Displayr

This may not be relevant given the new excel like tables, but lots of our power users create HTML tables (custom and also the Autofit tables) to do custom formatting and alignment with other objects on the page, ie.: !image-20220405-192515.png|width=490,height=171! Currently these must be exported as an image because they are based in HTML, but sometimes the end-client who is viewing the dashboard may want to export this data to excel as a table (powerpoint would be less important I believe). This doesn’t export at all to excel - even as a table. The viewer must highlight the text in Displayr (as long as things aren’t overlayed on top) and copy and paste into excel manually, which isn’t ideal. In this instance the client to our customer contacted us directly thinking there was an issue with the Displayr software when in reality it is our Displayr customer who designed this and would need to change it on the backend. This also adds confusion to the whole situation for the final end-client.

Problem: A potential adoption blocker for Displayr is the lack of customization when tables are exported to Excel. Currently, exported tables don't retain or apply corporate branding, formatting, or layout standards — forcing customers to manually reformat every export before it's usable in client-facing or internal reports. For teams that live in Excel, this extra manual step adds friction and time to every project, and is sometimes cited as a reason they hesitate to move all their work into Displayr. Requested Feature: Allow users to select a pre-made Excel template when exporting tables. Once selected, exported data would automatically inherit the template's corporate branding, fonts, colors, and formatting rules — eliminating the need for manual post-export cleanup. Competitive Context: Walr already offers this capability, letting users specify a valid Excel template so exported data conforms to their existing formatting standards out of the box.

A user has a set of tables that use a dynamic filter variable in the columns. They want to export the tables to Excel based on the filter selection, however, it's not currently possible to do that sort of looped export in Displayr.

More formatting options - eg only %, absolutes or both When exporting tables, the existing tables might have i.e. only % or Column % statistics added to them. However, sometimes users might want to run two sets of tables: Once set with percentages Exactly the same set but with absolutes (i.e. Count) Instead of needing to run duplicate tables in Displayr, can we not offer users the control to export the same set of tables with various statistics?

There are some notes on this topic: https://help.qresearchsoftware.com/hc/en-us/articles/4407577512847-How-to-Automatically-Update-think-cell-Charts-in-PowerPoint The main issue is that Think Cell requires the underlying tables/data to be formatted in a specific way, which - as I'm sure you've guessed by now - it not the way that Displayr or Q exports tables.  The work-around, I fear, is largely manual and would need to be done to the Excel data that's been exported to PowerPoint.

Currently a distance matrix visualization doesn't export to Excel. In order to get it to export, we need to use custom code to create a calculation that references the R item's "distance" object.

When a user wants to create an Excel export of each coded category with the comments that were assigned to it, there should be a built-in option to do this. As a workaround, we show them how to use a raw data table.

Include footer information when exporting driver analysis to Excel.

There's an option allowing the user to specify the number of empty rows between exported tables. However, this option isn't available with other output (e.g. Text Boxes, Calculations) The end client complained about the number of empty rows in the exported Excel file. The user would like more control over the export.

Ability to shade headers in Excel export to more easily see what columns are being compared in stat testing. Right now it’s like this: !image-20220906-161238.png|width=1082,height=343! Would like this: !image-20220906-161218.png|width=1409,height=370!
