Q Research Software

As an account administrator, I'd like to have easy access to see usage data for my company's Q licenses. Currently, I need to request this data from Q Support. But it would be nice if I could access this myself without having to bother/wait for Q support.

Customer wishes to update numerous records for a specific question in their raw data but is forced to create a new variable instead via pasting. The request here is to be able to update multiple cases in one go via a paste method to the Data tab.

The customer would like to be able to randomly select a subset of records based on a specific condition.

Original request was to allow Q to be distributed via Intune. UPDATE: We have done some testing and successfully distributed Q via Microsoft Intune as a "Win32 Line-of-business app" - that's what Microsoft calls it. Develop a version for Mac. 'Our company uses Macs, to get Q working I need to install VMware, then Windows, and only then Q. The installation process got more complicated since remote work kicked in. But even once it's installed, the machine virtually operates in two different worlds - Q on Windows and everything else on Mac, and moving between the two is very annoying (even simple things like shortcuts are different). And since I'm using Q every day, I'm constantly reminded about this separation. Please consider writing the package for Mac users. Just because you could make it work on a virtual machine, it does not mean what you end up with is actually working. Shame, because it is a great package.'

User asks: “Does Q have any means of identifying non-human survey responses/responses produced by bots? Or are you aware of any that work well? We recently had a survey in the field with a client who wanted more control of the distribution and we went with generic/shareable links. We received a lot of responses that look like they may have come from bots (e.g., very quick submissions, repeated nonsensical open-end responses). We have measures in place for future data collection, but are looking for an easy/thorough way to resolve this now.”

DIG Insights, one of our larger Q customers, regularly requests Version Check outputs from us. Our primary contact there, Olga Denisova, aggregates the usage in Q each month and has requested that user email address is included in the CSV export to make her work easier.

Being able to log tasks that have been carried out in the Q project file allows for better collaboration across projects.

The Help > Email Support menu uses an installed email client to open up and start a new email to our support team. If you don't have an email program installed on your computer, it won't work for you. The better way to contact us right from within Q is to use File > Share > Send to Support (Encrypted).

Creating an LDA tool involves using JavaScript code rather than any built-in tool. It would be good to make this pre-built.
