Table row labels merged on export to Excel

In Q, when exporting a table that contains column comparisons or any other secondary cell statistic, using the regular export (not legacy), the row headers are now merged Since the default cell alignment is ' Bottom', the row labels align with the bottom statistic rather than the primary statistic in each row which makes the table harder to read (see attached image).
This seems to have been changed in the 5.17.3.0 release.
The feature request here is to either change the row header default cell alignment in Excel to 'Top' or to change it back so that the row header cells are not merged.
The legacy export option still exports the row headers into separate unmerged rows.
