Selecting the
Set as Default
option while
Show below table/chart
is unticked removes captions from tables and charts.

It doesn't come across as very clear that the
Set as Default
button would behave in this way, so I'm going to put this forward as a feature request to perhaps change the labeling of this button to make it a bit clearer.
