When a chart uses a color palette or template palette with more colors than the number of legend series, Displayr should intelligently sample colors across the full palette/gradient, rather than taking adjacent colors or requiring custom R.

If a template has 15 colors and the chart has 5 legend categories, Displayr should select 5 well-spaced colors across the palette. The stacked column chart does this with updated R CODE, and the stacked bar chart on the right is how Displayr behaves currently

This behavior would mirror PowerPoint.
